Alternate composition
Ali I'm finding the space on the right-hand side of the photo to be a bit distracting. I know that the format of the image I'm submitting isn't 8x10", but I wanted to give you an idea of what I was talking about... My version of your composition isn't perfect by any means, I'm just suggesting an alternative approach to the entire picture plane when composing through the view finder.

I think that the cropping was a positive change. The narrow photograph seems to make the photo more interesting somehow too(perhaps a better used of the rule of 3rds?). Initially it bothered me that the railing was cropped off on the top right hand side but the more I look, it bothers me less.
ReplyDeleteI agree. The narrow crop makes the stairs look much better. There was too much information in the wider image. I wish that tree/bush thing wasn't at the bottom of the stairs though...
